River Rock Lights

The concept for River Rock Lights was derived from the idea of river rocks that are embedded at the bottom of the Ganges River in India. This river is considered to hold holy water and is a sacred place for those of the Hindu faith.

These candle holders can be used as a purely decorative element or as adornment during prayer. The final product was produced four times (by hand, using the slip casting method) and is coated with various neutral glazes to reflect the warmth of nature and the earth. This project was inspired by the manufacturing process machines use to create castings of various consumer goods and products.
